If you have a user that is having trouble registering, here's some things to know or ask...

Is your registration closed?

First, let's make sure your class registration is available.  You can check the registration options in your template, or view the registration page as the users would see it.

View the Registration Page as a user

You can do this in one of two ways.  You can either logout, OR, open an incognito/private window. We recommend opening a incognito window.  Each browser is different but usually it's one of your menu options.  (It may say 'Private')

Ok now browse to your registration page in your new private window and you'll see what your user is seeing when they go to the page.   Unless your registration is closed, you should see

"Login to my Account"  or   "Register for an Account"

Note:  These two buttons are referring to their My Event Cafe login.  Not whether they have registered for your event.

My Registration is Open, now what?

The most comment problem is the user registers for their MEC account, but never completes the event registration.  Before continuing, you'll need to make sure they have logged into My Event Cafe. Either by registering, or by logging in.   If they see the two buttons described above they haven't completed the login.

If your user is still having trouble, have the user go to your registration page and describe what they see.  If they are already logged in, they should see your registration information.  Including the event data, any enrollment questions, and finally the "Enroll" button.

Also, be sure the user is on the correct registration page.  You can verify that by having them look at the Event Date.  It may surprise you, but it's not uncommon for the user to be looking at a past event.

They are still having trouble, now what?

Ok if your user is having an issue outside of what we've just discussed, go ahead and reach out to us at support@myeventcafe.com.  With the following information:

  • What is the link to your registration page?
